We would like to announce that a selection of peer-reviewed papers dedicated to the 16th International GeoRAMAN Conference (GeoRAMAN2024), has now been published in a special issue of the Journal of Raman Spectroscopy (Volume 56, Issue 11).
The 23 contributions in the JRS special issue present new knowledge in the field of applications of Raman spectroscopy to Earth and planetary materials and reflect the scientific diversity, methodological innovation and collaborative spirit that continue to define this vibrant community. Ten contributions published in this special issue focus on Mineralogy, Petrology and Gemmology, three on Cultural Heritage and Archaeometry, one in Environmental Sciences, and nine articles contribute new knowledge in the field of Planetary Science and Exobiology.
